I’M A LEADER…
I’m not a Scout Leader for the easy hours, high pay, power or prestige.
I’m a Leader because I want the World for young people.
A World they can share and help shape.
A World of love and laughter where they can show compassion.
I want to guide them to know their self worth,
with a deeper understanding of themselves.
I want to help them strengthen their character,
and be sensitive to the needs of others.
I want them to be the best they can be.
In giving my time, I reap rewards far beyond what I give.
I receive a better World for my children and future generations.
I’m a Scout Leader because I care.

20 local Scouts will be attending Essex Jamboree (EIJ2024) from the 27th July to 3rd August 2024 for an unforgettable seven days and nights. EIJ brings Scouts and Guides together from across the UK and around the world.

Part of attending a Jamboree event is to help fundraise for travel and activity costs etc.. We have seen first hand the positive impact that fundraising can have on the young people – shy Scouts suddenly gaining confidence from calling out raffle numbers, or coming up with new innovative ways to raise funds. The young people are part of this, and this is one part of their Jamboree journey.

So far our Scouts have made Christmas items and sold them at the Blandford Yuletide Festival, they set themselves and the Beavers and Cubs to an epic sponsored ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ (climbing Hod Hill, Hambledon Hill& Okeford Hill).
